How to Change the Default Certificate on 2016 Released Printer Models

Affected Products:

Single-Function: CS720, CS725, CS727, CS728, C4150, CS820, CS827 and C6160

Multifunction: CX725, CX727, XC4140, XC4143, XC4150, XC4153, CX820, CX825, CX827, CX860, XC6152, XC6153, XC8155, XC8160 and XC8163

Issue Description:

This document provides a guide to changing your printer's default certificate.

Solution:

  1. Access your printer’s web page by typing the printer’s IP address on a browser.

  2. Navigate through Security > Certificate Management.

  3. Check the default certificate by clicking the existing one

    (A)

    listed under Device Certificates. This will open a new window to view the existing certificate details. Click OK when done

    Note:
    The subject line (B) shows the default certificate entry.

  4. Click on Configure Certificate Defaults to change the default certificate information.

  5. Input all the company details by changing the existing information in the fields. Once done, click Save to submit the changes made.
    Note:
    These settings will be used as the defaults to all generated certificates.

  6. Remove the existing certificate viewed (described in Step 3) by putting a check mark on the box (F) and clicking Delete(G). This will refresh the default certificate information to the details set in Step 5.

  7. Check the certificate to see whether it has the new details for the default certificate. Follow the same steps described in Step 3.
