44.01 Error on RFID Color Laser Printer

This applies to color RFID printers.

Single-Function: CS725R

Multifunction: CX725R

A "44.01 error " appears for each document printed / programmed.

1. Make sure the tag location is greater than 25 mm from the leading edge.

   • The tag location is specified in the tag command. The tag command can be generated using various tools such as a tag command generator or the RFID specifications provided by Lexmark (Lexmark RFID Tag Command Generator app).



2. Specify the correct data format in the json file or list of arguments sent to the tag command generator.

   • The tag command generator assumes the format will be ASCII.

     If the data is not specified in the correct format (ASCII, hexadecimal, etc), the printer will post a 44.01 error.

Have the following available when calling Lexmark Technical Support;

• Printer model(s)

• Printer serial number
