Lexmark MS811 ? A `Cancel IPDS? Message Appears After Printing from AS400

Issue description

When you print a document from AS400 on a Lexmark MS811 printer with an IPDS card installed, a message comes up on the home screen asking if you want to cancel the IPDS print job.

Expected behavior

The print job from the AS400 should print without requiring the user to manually cancel the IPDS and should automatically go back to the Ready state.

Resolution

  1. Power the printer Off.

  1. Click here to download the IPDS FW and save it on a flash drive.

  1. Press and hold the Home button while turning the printer back On.

  1. Release the Home button after the Lexmark logo appears on the home screen. This procedure will bypass the IPDS code.

  1. When the printer is back to the Ready state, mount the flash drive to the printer and look for the IPDS FW file, then press OK.

  1. The printer should perform an update and restart. After the printer restarts, print the Menu Settings Page (MSP) and check whether the printer has the following details:

  • Base = P638
  • IPDS = 1049

NOTE:
If the code does not appear as shown, please repeat Steps 3 through 6.

  1. Perform a print test and check whether the issue persists.
