Cannot Register Card when "Use SSL" Is Enabled in the LDAP Settings

Issue description

When tapping on the card reader from the printer and providing DO (Digital Office) user credentials (i.e., username and password), the printer will display “Authenticating”, “Registering card…please wait” and finally times out. This happens when “Use SSL” is selected from the (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) LDAP settings.

Solution

In using LDAP settings as the method to validate a card, "Use SSL" should not be used. This is a limitation due to the old Java platform version used on the 2012 released printers.

The “Use SSL” setting will work only on the later Lexmark printer model releases.
