Sleep-Print-Sleep printer function now available on E6 firmware

Issue description

A document is printed when sending a print job to the printer; however, the printer’s display screen remains off and printer does not wake up from sleep mode.

Note:  A printer of the same model wakes up when printing the document.

Overview

What is Sleep-Print-Sleep?

A Sleep-Print-Sleep function allows you to send a print job to a printer that is in Sleep mode, (enabled for power conservation). This printer function will print the job but will not wake the printer up; the printer display screen remains off, as well, and after printing the job, the printer goes back to Sleep mode.

Sleep-Print-Sleep Availability

Beginning in April 2016, printers (MS71x/81x & MX71x/81x) shipped from the factory and from Customization Centers may have the EC6 (P630) and above firmware. Hence, if you had bought your printer prior to the April date, you may check the printer's firmware and update it to get the Sleep-Print-Sleep function.

Note:  You may download the latest firmware from our website, support.lexmark.com.

Note:  If the printer model has the 115V power supply and printer won’t wake up when printing, refer to Blank or intermittent display for further troubleshooting.
