IPSec communication failure between host and printer

What you will see

A printer configured for Internet Protocol Security (IPSec) fails to work and prevents communication with individual workstations or hosts.

Suggested fixes

IPSec's function is largely controlled by the printer's firmware, a properly configured device and a host that is properly configured to accept IPSec communication.

  1. Check your printer's current firmware level found under Reports > Menu Settings Page > Device Information > Base, e.g.,LW62.##.P636.

  2. A PE-released version of firmware .P663, or later,is known to address a specific issue relating to IPSec. Contact Lexmark Technical Support and reference this articleID#:SO8106 to request this firmware.

    NOTE: You will be asked to provide your printer's current firmware level and you may be asked to provide a summary describing your network topology and security infrastructure.
