'System Timeout' Error Shown on a Lexmark CS310, CS410, CS510, CX310, CX410, and CX510

Overview

A “System Timeout” error appears on the printer's operator panel.

1Leave the printer powered on for at least TEN seconds with the error message showing on its screen.
2Then power off the printer for at least another TEN seconds.
3Power it on again and see whether the error has cleared. If issue persists, proceed with the steps below.
4This issue can be due to an older level of firmware; please update the firmware to the latest version.
5Download the latest firmware code.
  1. Go to Lexmark Support website.

  2. Click the Support & Downloads link on the left-hand pane.

  3. Type your printer model inside the “Search by Product or Software Name” box, and then hit Select. Example: Lexmark CS310 or CX310.

  4. Click the “Downloads” tab and check the latest firmware version.

  5. Click the “Download” button and save the file. Make a note as to where you have the files saved.


Note:
The downloaded ZIP file should contain a text document (Update Instructions) and an “.fls” file (actual code).
