`232.05? Paper Jam Error Messages on the Lexmark CS310, CS410, CS510, CX310, CX410, and CX510

Overview

Paper repeatedly jams whenever the printer tries to print on both sides of the paper (front and back). The printer displays a Paper Jam message, open front door to clear duplex. The accompanying numeric error code is 232.05.


NOTE:
You can select Show areas on the printer’s control panel to view images that will help you locate where the jam is occurring. Once the paper path is completely cleared of all jammed paper/media, the printer should resume normal printing.

1Try to locate and remove the jammed paper. Ensure any previous jams have been completely removed; and refer to 23y.xx Paper Jam Removal.


Note:
If this print job consisted of more than one page, probably more than one page is stuck inside the printer. Follow all the steps in the link above and confirm that the entire paper path is clear before attempting to print again.

2Check to see whether the printer supports the paper being used and that it meets all recommendations listed in the Users Guide.
3Be sure that the affected paper tray (could be any input source) is loaded correctly to prevent heavy skew; please refer to .
4Do not mix paper/media sizes, weights, or types in the same source; such mixing results in jams.
5If the paper in the printer shows signs of excessive wrinkle, crease, or dampness, is bent or wavy, or has ream glue or curl, there is probably too much moisture in the paper. Replace the paper in the printer with new paper from an unopened ream.
6If issue occurs when print job is duplex (double-sided printing), ensure that the output bin is empty. Also closely monitor how much paper exits the printer when sending large print jobs using any media narrower than Letter or A4 (more than 15 pages). Remove media from the output bin before the stack height becomes too tall, and before any subsequent duplex document printing to avoid jams.
