User Fails to Receive an E-mail Alert After Successfully Sending an E-mail

Scan to e-mail works but fails to send SMTP alerts to the user.

Affected products

This issue was first seen on an MX811; however, CX seriesMFPs any devices with similar firmware architecture will exhibit this behavior.

Suggested remedy

E-mail Alerts rely on Device-Initiated SMTP setup. So, if e-mail works fine in a setup (User Initiated), then you need to make sure Device-Initiated E-mails use a similar Authentication option.
