Does Fax Forward convert the fax into another document format?

Fax Forward can convert the incoming fax into the following formats:

  • Tagged Image File Format (TIFF)
  • Joint Photographic Experts Group (JPEG)
  • Portable Document Format (PDF)
Can Fax Forward convert the Fax document into a searchable PDF?At this time, converting the incoming fax document into a searchable PDF is not supported.
Can Fax Forward convert the incoming fax document into an archivable PDF (i.e., PDF/A-1a or PDF/A-1b)?If the default PDF format for the printer is set to an archivable PDF format (i.e., PDF/A-1a or PDF/A-1b), the incoming fax will be converted into the archivable PDF format before being written to the shared folder.
Can Fax Forward be used with Lexmark's Fax Over IP (FoIP) solution?

Fax Forward will not work with FoIP because FoIP does not use the analog modem.

Fax Forward is designed to receive a fax from the analog modem, convert the fax transmission to the desired file format, and then save it to a shared folder.

Can Fax Forward be used with Scan to RightFax?

Fax Forward can be installed and used on the same printer hosting the Scan to RightFax app. However, it is very unlikely for you to use Fax Forward for incoming faxes if you have specified receiving faxes through the RightFax server.

Does Fax Forward require a scanner?

No, it does not require the use of a scanner.

Fax Forward is a fax receive app. It is only designed to receive faxes and write the fax to a shared folder.

Does Fax Forward support Kerberos authentication?

To support Kerberos authentication, the app must use the printer's security building blocks (i.e., Fax Forwardwill not support Kerberos if it was not enabled in the Device Apps list of the security block when creating a security template).
