An “Invalid Engine Code” error message indicates a problem with one of the internal operating programs of the printer. The printer is not able to receive, and process print jobs until the printer is reset.
Turn off the printer.
Leave the printer off for 30 seconds to a minute.
With the printer off, clear any unfinished print jobs that are currently in queue.
Turn on the printer and allow it to reach a Ready state. Do not send any print jobs yet.
If the error appears again, then continue to step 6. If the error does not appear, then the error may be an isolated incident.
