Overview
When you perform a hole punch using the Lexmark MS911/ MX91x, the distance between the holes punched by the finisher does not meet the country specific standards.
E.g., Printer Location = Japan Japan Hole Punch standard distance = 80 mm Customer Finisher hole punch distance = 70 mm
Issue verification
To check whether your hole punch distance is accurate to your location, perform the recommended troubleshooting procedure below:
- Make a copy and perform a 3 hole punch or 4 hole punch (these will depend on the option available in the printer's menu).
NOTE:
• If the hole punched is 3, then this means you have a US conversion finisher installed. • If the hole punched is 4, then this means you have an EMEA conversion finisher installed.
After performing the hole punch test, measure the distance between the holes that the finisher made. For example, if the printer is in Japan, then it should have an 80 mm standard hole punch distance. However, should the distance between holes measure 70 mm apart; then you currently have the US converted finisher installed on your printer.
Resolution
Since the distance of the hole punch differs per location, you will need to install the correct finisher conversion on the printer based on the country standards.
Using our previous example where Japan is the country the printer is located in, we will need to install the EMEA conversion finisher to match its hole punch distance when performing a 2 hole punch.
