Unable to 'Staple' or '3-Hole Punch' Using Folio and Oficio Paper Sizes with the Lexmark MS911, MX910, MX911, and MX912 Finisher

What you will see

The finisher's staple and 3-hole punch featurefails to work withFolio or Oficio paper sizes.

PaperDimensions
Folio210 x 330mm, 8 x 13in.
Oficio216 x 340mm, 8.5 x 13 in.

This is further evidenced by:

  • Staple Test fails. Found under the Settings > Print Settings > Finisher Menu.
  • Print job commands to staple or hole punch are ignored.
  • Copying with Copy To size set to Folio or Oficio results in Staple or Punch being grayed-out. Hence, printed output exits out to the standard output bin rather than the finisher's bin.

Fix and explanation

Upgrade your printer's firmware to LW61.##.P660 or later. At the time of this article's authoring, EC6.2 (LW62.##.P636) is now available on support.lexmark.com. The finisher's staple and 3-hole punch feature did not originally support these paper sizes.
