Unable to Locate Newer TWAIN Driver After Installing an Older Version

What you will see

An older Network TWAIN driver version displays when you open any TWAIN-compliant application.

This happens when you install an older TWAIN driver version (e.g., from an older printer’s installation driver CD) on a computer containing the latest version previously installed from the Lexmark Support site.

Suggested remedy

Uninstall then reinstall the newer driver. To uninstall, go to Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features, then locate the newer TWAIN driver and uninstall.

NOTE:
It is best to use the latest network scan driver from the Lexmark Support site.

Explanation

The installation driver CD uses an installation scheme different from that of the latest driver downloadable from the Lexmark Support site. As a result, older files may overwrite the existing newer version.
