Lexmark CX72x, CX8xx, XC41cc, XC61xx, and XC81xx: Address Book 'Search' Feature Disappears for Logged-In Administrators

Issue Description:

Logging into the device as an administrator and accessing the Address Book

results in the disappearance of the search feature andindependent of whether the admin has full access permissions.

Solution:

A PE-released version of firmware 030.079 or later addresses this issue. Please contact Lexmark Technical Support and reference this article ID#SO8182 to obtain this firmware.

Changed Behavior:

This fix removes the original logic behind whether the search icon will appear based on assigned permissions*. Now, the device will always display the search icon regardless of the type of user (Admin, Guest, User Account) or assigned function access (permissions). Users without proper permissions will simply receive empty results when performing a search.
