Print queue is stuck when sending print jobs from AS/400 server and Win Server 2012 R2

Affected Products:

Multifunction: CX860, XC8160 and XC8163

Issue Description:

When the user sends two print jobs (one print job from the AS/400 Server and another from Win Server 2012 R2), the AS/400 queue reaches the printer without any issues and remains in the "Busy" state instead of printing the job from the Win server 2012. The only way for the job to go through is by performing a Power-On Reset (POR) on the printer.

Explanation:

It has been confirmed by the product engineers (PE) that there is a glitch in the firmware for Lexmark products released in the year 2016.

Solution:

  1. Check the printer’s current firmware (FW).

    • If the firmware is already updated, skip the next Step 2 and go to the Still Need Help? section for contacting Lexmark Technical Support.
  2. Update the printer firmware (FW) using the latest PE release version.
