Lexmark CX/CS8xx_72x and XC/Cxxxx: Fax Forwarding Issues

Issue Description:

The Fax Receive setting to forward incoming faxes to e-mail is ignored, and all incoming faxes are printed.

Solution:

  1. Confirm that you are able to send and receive faxes.

  2. Confirm that scan-to-email is working by testing an e-mail shortcut.

  3. If both individual functions are working properly, then check your printer's firmware level.

  4. If the FW-level is ##.030.086, or below, then contact Lexmark Technical Support

  5. Update firmware.

Explanation:

A particular SMTP failure relating to fax forwarding was identified and addressed using a special PE-released version of firmware.

Enabling fax forwarding involves navigating to Settings > Fax > Analog Fax Setup > Fax Receive Settings > Admin Controls.
