843.01 error message

Affected Products:

Issue Description:

The 843.01 Blue Screen error message occurs when copying or scanning on the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF).

A backside calibration frame that got stuck to the lower jam door (E in Step 3 below) is the likely cause.

Solution:

The steps outlined in this article are a walkthrough for breaking the calibration frame free from the lower jam door and attempting to prevent further sticking.

  1. Open the scanner lid.

  2. Remove the pressure pad.

  3. Find the lower jam door (E circled in red).

  4. Open the lower jam door.

  5. Find the gear on the lower jam door's back.

  6. Spin this gear with your finger.

  7. Run your finger along the edge of the frame.

    Note: With the gear spun all the way, run your finger along this edge. Doing so will make the adhesive less sticky. If you continue to experience this problem, continue doing this fix.
