Affected Products:

Multifunction: CX825, CX860, XC8155, XC8160, XC8163

Part Numbers: 42K1597, 42K1598, 42K1267, 42K1268 (Multi-Position Staple Punch Finisher)

Issue Description:

The paper's leading or outside edge is damagedonly when exiting to the finisher's standard bin. You may also see a 451.25 paper jam.

As the image shows below, make sure the bail goes over the rib on the left/front end and under the rib on the right/rear end.

Sample proper standard bail assembly (both sides)

Solution:

There is only a short amount of paper path where this issue can be caused, so it is likely the standard bin bail (41X0932) is not assembled properly. Illustration showing incorrect bail positionunder thetab (rib) of the machine.

To remedy this issue, reinstall the bail assembly so that the bail goes over the rib.

Further troubleshooting:

If the bin bail is installed correctly, then continue to follow the other steps in the Service Manual under 451.25jams.
