Reactivating scanner after service

After performing the required service actions, the scanner will remain in a disabled state. Follow one of these two methods for re-enabling the scanner

Method 1: Follow the boot prompts or error dialogs

840.02 example

Select Reboot and automatically enable scanner.

Method 2: Configuration Menu

Although this method is not recommended because of its additional level of difficulty, it will allow you to enable and disable the scanner:

  1. From the home screen, press Settings > Device > Maintenance > Configuration Menu > Scanner Configuration.

  2. Scroll down to Disable Scanner. It will say Enabled, but ignore this message since the scanner was automatically disabled at the microcode level.

  3. Select Disabled.

  4. Reboot or power cycle the MFP.

  5. Observe the behavior, which is no errors and no messages on boot-up.

  6. Return to Settings > Device > Maintenance > Configuration Menu > Scanner Configuration > Disable Scanner.

  7. Re-enable the scanner by selecting Enabled.

  8. Reboot the MFPonce more to complete the procedure and return the scanner to full operation.
