Lexmark CX825 & CX860 ? Paper Jams in Stapler Bin Using Letter-Sized Media

Overview

Frequent jams occur when printing multiple sheets of a stapled job using letter-sized media. When the sheets enter into the multi-position stapler finisher's accumulator area, the “tamper” mechanism above the stapler bin crushes them. This causes the jam. The following images show samples of this:

NOTE:

  • The issue happens when sending a three to nine page print job to be stapled.
  • This only applies to portrait single-staple jobs (i.e., one staple on the page's upper left or lower right).

Suggested Remedy

Please contact Lexmark Technical Support to acquire the firmware that will fix the issue.

NOTE:

The Lexmark representative might ask for the printer's current firmware level. Please refer to this link xref_Check_xref for the steps.
