An MVE Policy Update to Change 'Download Target' Leads to an 'Offending Stack Error' when Printing to a Printer Without an Installed Hard Drive

What you will see

With the intention of creating more storage for the Print and Hold function, a user sends a Markvision Enterprise (MVE) policy to devices to switch their ' Download Target' from RAM to Hard Drive (HDD). This action leads to all printers not equipped with HDDs to generate Offending Stack Errors upon printing.

This Download Target directly relates to where the held job is stored on the printer.

Affected products

This issue was first seen on the MX511 MFP; however, other MFPs without HDDs installed, and with similar firmware architecture, may exhibit this issue.
