Premature 'Bin 1 Full' message involving certain paper sizes

Issue Description:

Printer

indicates Bin 1 full before reaching the finisher's bin 1 200 sheet capacity.

Finisher Bin 1 paper capacity specification:

  • Staple, Hole Punch Finisher: Bin 1 – 200 pages

  • Hole Punch Booklet Finisher: Bin 1 – 200 pages

Solution:

One of these following solutions may prevent this issue:

Solution 1:

Try different media such as opening a new ream of paper.

Performance effects:

  • Different types of media can exhibit less curl and absorb less water than others.

  • Using paper from a newly opened ream can result in less curl.

Solution 2:

Use Bin 2 for the printing stacking since it has a 2000-sheet capacity.

Solution 3:

Change the fuser temperature by changing the paper type and paper texture.

To do this:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Paper > Media Configuration > Media Types > Plain Paper > Texture or Weight.

  2. Change Paper Texture or Paper Type based on job type and printer's rated speed.

  3. Job type

    Set Paper Type to...

    Set Paper Texture to...

    Mono

    Plain

    Smooth (from Normal)

    Color (35/45/55 ppm models)

    Plain

    Rough (from Normal)

    Color jobs (65ppm model)

    Letterhead (from Plain)

    Smooth (from Normal)

    Note:

    Setting change results in a slow down to half speed.

  4. Click Save.
