This document provides basic information on Server Message Block (SMB) scanning from Lexmark MFPs and other supported features.

* Common Access Card (CAC) Special Product Request (SPR) builds and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) Scan to Network support DFS and Kerberos Authentication.

** "Data Encryption" in this chart refers to the AES-CCM encryption available in the SMBv3 protocol which can be enabled or disabled on a per-folder basis.

** Requires SMB v3. SMB v3 to be present in Microsoft Windows Server 2012 and later versions of the OS.

Note:  An x denotes any number within a given printer model series.

  • For MX310 / MX317 / XM1135 / CX310 / CX317
    • No Kerberos Support for Device Authentication or for Scan to Network shortcuts
    • Supports NTLMv2
    • Supports SMBv2
  • For MX321 / MB2338 / CX421 / MC2325 / MC2425
    • Supports Kerberos for device authentication, but does not currently support Kerberos for the Scan to Network shortcuts.

      • Note:  There is an effort to add the Scan to Network Shortcut Kerberos support in the future.

    • Supports NTLMv2
    • Supports SMBv3
