What you will see
You cannot scan using any Network Twain-compliant application (e.g., Scan Center). The following symptom and error may occur:
- After clicking Scan in the Network Twain window, it freezes and will not complete a scan.
- Clicking the Scan button multiple times will result to a General Network error while trying to communicate with the device.
NOTE: This happens when using Network Twain driver version 1.14 and below.
Update the Network Twain driver to version 1.5 (or higher).
When scanning using Network Twain driver, the printer firmware will randomly assign a shortcut number to the driver depending on the available shortcuts. However, with Network Twain driver version 1.14 and below, the driver will not recognize shortcut numbers 15, 18, 19, 20, and 22; thus, causing the issue.
