The 'Contact Name' and 'Location' Embedded Web Server Values Are Reset After Upgrading Firmware on Lexmark M, MS, MX, XM, CS, CX and XC Series Printers

What you will see

Upgrading firmware resets the Contact Name and Location values on the printer. This occurs when updating base code levels from ≤ .P151 (EC1.1) to ≥ .P235 (EC2).

What to do

After updating firmware, you will have to reconfigure Contact Name and Location values. This is due to an unavoidable change within Base (RIP) .P235 level firmware and above.

The easiest way to reconfigure these settings is via the printer Embedded Web Server (EWS). Select Settings and General to locate these values.
