What you will see
A band of light print or voids appear at the edge of every output page. This happens when printing or copying (on multifunction printers) and can possibly occur after replacing the Imaging Unit.
NOTE:
It can even happen with a brand new, out of the box (OOB) printer.Possible cause
Packaging materials that were not removed from the Imaging Unit are the most likely cause of this type of print quality defect. See image below:

| A cardboard shim (A) that was not removed from the Imaging unit has caused repeating voids on the left-side edge of the printed page (B). |
If the cardboard shims are not removed before the Imaging Unit is installed, they can cause a skew in the Photoconductor (PC) drum and consequently light print or voids result at one or other printed page edge.
Recommended solution
Inspect and make sure that no packing material remains on any of the supplies, especially on the Imaging Unit.
If all packaging material has been removed and the defect persists, the PC drum in the Imaging Unit is most likely damaged. The PC drum can be damaged by Electrostatic discharge (ESD) or extended exposure to light. To resolve the issue, the Imaging Unit must be replaced.
