The Trailing Edge of the Media Gets Caught by the Hole Punch Unit (HPU) Tamper Causing Paper Jam

What you will see

The trailing edge of the paper ejected to the bin fails to fall down completely and hangs on the HPU's rear wall. Once the tamper catches these hanging sheets, it will then block the paper path and eventually a paper jam results. See image below.

Recommended solution

This issue is observed if the printed media comes out of the HPU having high curl (up to 40mm or 1.57 inches). The affected media types include, but are not limited to, A4, LT, and ST.

NOTE:
The printer has no settings that can be adjusted to avoid this occurrence. What you can do to reduce the effect of curling is use media that is dry and fresh out of a ream. If the media has been sitting in the tray for quite some time, flip it over in the tray before printing it.
