Adjusting the fax tone volume to low or off

Overview

Turning “Quiet Mode” On significantly reduces acoustics produced when the machine performs a printing job, and this includes the fax tone. However, enabling quiet mode also sets the printer to half-speed, increases component wear, and may result in some Fixing vertical white lines or streaks appearing on the print To avoid these possible issues, Lexmark recommends adjusting the fax tone volume only through the printer’s Fax Settings menu.

Solution

Adjusting the fax tone volume

Turn OFF Quiet Mode if it was turned ON.
1. Press Menus button at the lower right-hand corner of the control panel.
2. Open Menus > Settings > General Settings.
3. Scroll down and select Quiet Mode.
4. Select Off and press ?.

3. Scroll downand select Speaker Settings.
4. Determine your preferred settings:
