Incorrect logging in Fax Call Log when using Fax Forward

Issue description

The Fax Call Log shows that fax forward failed even when the fax job was successfully printed and forwarded to the network share folder. Please see sample log below.

  • RECV 2014-12-11 17:09 1 0:21 1 OK
  • ESF 2014-12-11 17:09 3 0:21 ESF 1 Failed
  • PRINT 2014-12-11 17:09 1 0:21 1 OK

Solution

To resolve this issue, you may perform either of the following options:

  1. Configure SMTP Setup. This setting is found in the embedded web server (EWS) > Settings > E-mail/FTP Settings > SMTP Setup.

  2. Remove the e-mail address in the “Share Confirmation E-mail” field found in the EWS > Settings > Embedded Solutions or Device SolutionsSolutions (eSF) or AppsApps Management > Fax Forward, and then select the Configure tab.

Explanation

The failed message appears due to an error encountered by the Fax Forward app when trying to send the confirmation email.
