Overview
Print skew is noticeable on envelopes printed from multi-purpose feeder (MPF). If you are having problems getting the envelope feeder to work when printing envelops, please refer to the directions in the table below to help determine which hardware part is causing the issue.
Troubleshooting
Steps | Actions |
1 | Check to see whether the printer supports the envelope type and size being used and that it meets all recommendations listed in the User’s Guide (If you are not sure, please contact Lexmark Technical Support). |
2 | Make sure the envelope is correctly oriented in the MPF (flap up and to the right). |
3 | Adjust the side guides on the MPF to the width of the envelope stack and make sure the guides are pressed up against the envelopes correctly. If necessary, remove the envelopes and re-adjust the guides one 'click' narrower.
Note: To determine whether the issue is resolved, you will need to print and examine a sample page. If the issue persists, repeat the above procedure until the skew improves. |
4 | If issue persists after performing the steps mentioned above, try using new, flat, and unwrinkled envelopes. |
5 | If this issue occurs again when using the MPF, try printing from the front-loading manual feed slot. Note: If issue persists, please contact Lexmark Technical Support for other troubleshooting suggestions.
