Changes from EC0 to EC1:

The list below shows the different changes and behavior that the printer went through after updating to EC1.

Note:
Some of the affected products have now been released with the EC1 firmware; therefore, the changes and behaviors provided should already be noticed.

>

Users are part of groups and permissions are assigned to groups.

>

The Import / Export Configuration can only be seen if the user was provided permission under Access Controls.

(A)

Import and Export Configuration is not available due to the lack of user accessibility.

(B)

Import and Export Configuration available as options.

>

The All Users group can be equated to Guest or non-logged-in users.

>

Permissions are controlled by enabling / disabling specific categories under Access Controls.

>

In order to import or export configuration files, the Import / Export Settings under Access Control should be enabled.

Note:
In this new update, users will ONLY need access to the Import / Export Settings under Access Controls in order to import or export a setting(s) file.

>

Before the change was applied in EC1, users were also required to have specific access to the Administrative Menus under Access Control, that contained setting(s) being changed by the imported file.

This change was made in order to simplify the permissions needed to remotely manage a printer, and to avoid complicated errors that could be caused by a user only having access to some of the Administrative Menus.
