How to Set Retention Time for Released Jobs via LPM Print Release

Overview

This article provides the steps required to set the time it takes before released jobs are removed from the Lexmark Print Management (LPM) Print Release queue.

Affected products

See supported printers list found on the Lexmark Print Management.

Recommended solution

StepAction
1Open the printer’s Lexmark Management Console (LMC) using any web browser (e.g., Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, etc.). To do so, enter http://<server address>:9780/lmc.
2 Click the Solutions tab > PrintRelease > Configuration.
3

Locate Delete Printed Jobs After Specified Hours, and then specify the number of hours the job may be retained.

Note:
The minimum value that can be set is one hour.

NOTE:
To delete a confidential job immediately when the printer encounters an error during printing (e.g., paper jam), press the Cancel Job option on the printer’s control panel.

If this option is not available, set the Jam Recovery to OFF. To do so, access the printer’s Embedded Web Server (EWS) or the printer’s control panel Menu, and then navigate to Settings > General Settings > Print Recovery > Jam Recovery.
