Overview
This article outlines the installation/replacement procedure for the toner cartridge on a Lexmark X86xe MFP.
Replacement/Installation Procedure

| 1 | Open the Front Door. | |
| 2 | Grasp the handle and pull out the cartridge. | |
| 3 | Unpack a new cartridge. Warning—Potential Damage: When replacing a toner cartridge, do not leave the new cartridge exposed to direct light for an extended period of time. Extended light exposure can cause print quality problems. | |
| 4 | Firmly shake the new cartridge front-to-back and side-to-side to evenly distribute the toner. | |
| 5 | Insert or slide the new cartridge into the appropriate position inside the MFP. | |
| 6 | Push the toner cartridge in as far as it will go. The cartridge clicks into place when correctly installed. | No Image |
| 7 | Close the Front Door.
Note: After performing the steps above, the MFP performs a motor cycle and clears the Replace Toner warnings. Then the MFP returns to the Ready state.
