Identify DLEs or Special Firmware

Certain functions or applications may require special firmware. Inform the technical support agent of any extensive variation in code levels.

IMPORTANT! Look for the presence of any downloadable language emulators (DLEs). All printer/MFPs with any one of these following downloadable language emulators (DLE) will require a different code specific to the emulation type. Downloadable language emulators can be also found under Device Information.

  • Bar Code

  • Prescribe

  • Intelligent Printer Data Stream (IPDS), etc

NOTE:
Please contact Lexmark Technical Support for the compatible firmware for a corresponding DLE. DLE cards are base-code dependent. Incorrect download and flashing to the printer could lead to an irrecoverable error.
