Lexmark C74x&X74x ? Missing Print on Either Margin of the Page (White Gapping)

Overview

Inconsistent contact between the toner cartridge's Developer roller and Photoconductor (PC) drum cause this issue. It is most likely to occur when the printer transitions between printing “Black only” pages to printing color pages or a mixture of black and color. The pattern produced by the white gap is generally jagged.

Troubleshooting

StepAction
1

Open the front door and re-seat the toner cartridge that is having the white gapping issue.

2

If the issue persists, disable 'Black Only' printing mode and re-print the job. To turn off ‘Black Only’ mode via the Operator panel, go through:

Settings > Setup Menu > Black Only Mode > Off

3

Re-print the job and if the issue persists, contact Lexmark Technical Support for other troubleshooting recommendations.
