201.02 paper jam with folded paper output and blank page printouts

What you will see

Paper is continuously jamming in the fuser or fuser exit sensor area with a 201.02 Paper Jam error message displayed. The jammed sheet of paper will be damaged or the sheet folded in half. The printouts may also exhibit blank areas over the entire page.

Troubleshooting

StepsActions
1

Look for any jammed paper inside the fuser unit. Remove any that you find. Note: To see some examples of what the jammed sheet of paper may look like, see a sample image here.

Caution! The inside of the fuser unit will be hot. Exercise care when removing the paper or wait for the fuser unit to cool before clearing paper from this area.

2

After you have confirmed that the inside of the fuser unit is clear of paper, check the remaining printer areas. Make sure that no other paper sheets are jammed in the printer.

Note: Once you have confirmed that the entire paper path is clear, the paper jam message on the panel should clear.

3Check to see whether the paper is loaded into the tray correctly, in a straight and neat stack. If the paper is not loaded correctly, remove it and reload it properly into the paper tray.
4Verify that the printer driver on the computer is set to the appropriate width and height of the media that is being used. If settings are set correctly, print a test page to see whether the problem has been resolved. Continue with the next step if the problem still exists.
5

Should you continue to encounter paper jams after clearing all the paper, look for any obstructions in the paper path. If you are not able to find any obstruction or should one be found and cannot be removed, the printer may need service to fix the problem.
