Repeated 937.70 and/or 937.71 Service Transport Motor error

Issue description

The printer is repeatedly displaying 937.70 or 937.71 Service Transport Motor error messages.

The printer is repeatedly displaying 937.70 or 937.71Service Transport Motor error messages. The printer may also display 200.13 Paper Jam or Main Drive Motor Assembly Failure messages. Turning the printer off and on again will clear the error for a short time, possibly up to a week, but the Service Transport Motor error messages will return.

Solution

  1. If this is the first time the error has appeared, turn off the printer.

  2. Inspect the paper path inside the printer to confirm that it is clear. Perform a close inspection of the areas located under the toner cartridge and inside the internal duplex tray.

  3. Once you confirm that the paper path is clear, turn on the printer again and try printing. Continue normal usage if it performs correctly, but pay close attention to it over the next few days to see if the error returns.

  4. If the error returns, the printer will require a service action to correct the issue permanently. Please contact Lexmark Technical Support or a local authorized service provider for additional assistance. NOTE: Continuing to turn the printer off and on should clear the error temporarily until a service action can be arranged.

If the issue persists, search for more information related to this issue or contact support for further assistance.
