202.11 paper jam: Check for a piece of tape on the back of the printer.

What you will see

Paper repeatedly jams when the printer tries to print on both the front and back sides of the page. The numeric error code displayed is '202.11'. Single-sided pages feed through the printer with no problem.

T650 models with duplex option installed - check for packing tape

If you have a Lexmark T650 printer with a duplex option installed, and it is experiencing repeated paper jams, check the numeric error code it displays. If the error code is '202.11', a piece of blue packing tape may be stuck on the rear of the printer, behind the duplex option. This is especially true if the printer is new or if the duplex option was recently installed. In order to check for the packing tape, you will need to remove the printer up and off of the duplex option. See the directions for this procedure in the table below.NOTE: If the numeric error code is not '202.11', or if the printer does not have a duplex option installed, Troubleshooting a 202 paper jam to read general information about clearing all 202 type paper jams.

Step

Action

1

Power off the printer.

2

Unplug the power cord and all other cables going into the printer.

3

Make sure the safety latches on each side of the duplex option are released. To do this, push in the safety latches until they click and stay recessed.

4

Lift the printer slightly up off the duplex option to insure the duplex is not connected, then lift the printer away from the duplex option. Place the printer on a flat, level surface.

CAUTION! The printer weighs 18 kg (40 lb). To avoid injury to yourself and to the printer, it is highly recommended that you enlist the help of another person when lifting or moving the printer.

5

Look at the back of the printer to search for a piece of blue packing tape stuck there. (See the picture below for an example.) If a piece of tape is there, remove it. That should correct the paper jams.

IMPORTANT! If the back of the printer appears clear, another issue with the duplex option may be causing paper to jam. Therefore check the inside of the duplex option for a jammed page or any other obstruction that may prevent paper from feeding through. If the duplex option appears to be clear, a service call may be needed to correct the issue. Please contact Lexmark Technical Support for additional information (see Contacting Lexmark Technical Support below for details).

6

Pick up the printer, align it with the duplex option, and then carefully place the printer back down onto the duplex option. To avoid injury to yourself and to the printer, make sure to enlist the help of another person for this step.

7

Once the printer is secur ely in place, you can re-engage the safety latches on each side of the duplex option.

8

Reconnect the power cord and all the other cables into the printer.

9

Power on the printer.

10

Try printing again to see if the issue is resolved. If the issue continues, a service call may be needed to correct the issue. Please contact Lexmark Technical Support for additional information (see Contacting Lexmark Technical Support below for details).

NOTE: When contacting Lexmark Technical Support or arranging a service call for this issue, try to provide as much of the following information as possible:
