Issue description
Light or dark marks of any size are visible on printed pages. These marks repeat in a vertical column from top to bottom of the page in portrait orientation. If the marks do not repeat in a pattern, to diagnose random marks or spots.
Recommended troubleshootingTry printing on recommended media that is dry and fresh out of a ream.
Check the cartridge toner level. Replace the cartridge if the toner is low.
Look for contamination on visible parts of the cartridge and printer.
Try printing with a different cartridge. Replace the cartridge if necessary.
From the printer menu, navigate to Menu > Help > Print Defects Guide. Print this document and compare it to your print sample to determine which component in the printer or cartridges needs to be replaced. Replace the cartridge, transfer roll, charge roll, or fuser as indicated.
