What you will see
The printer continues to read the High Capacity Input Tray (HCIT) option as empty, even after you load paper into the option.
NOTE: The HCIT (also called a '2000-sheet feeder option') is highlighted with yellow in the image below. The location and tray number of the option may vary, depending on the number of other paper trays installed.
Recommended actions
Power off the printer. Wait ten seconds, then power on the printer again. This should reset the printer as well as the HCIT option, and clear the error message.
If
the issue returnsIf this issue repeats regularly (where every time the feeder option runs empty, you have to power the printer off and back on again to reset it), a service action may be required in order to correct the issue permanently. A part on the option may need to be repaired or replaced. Please contact Lexmark Technical Support for more information.
