Printer Frequently Performs Color Adjustments

Overview

The printer frequently pauses for color adjustments. Sometimes these “Adjusting Color” events occur within minutes of one another.

Solution

To reduce the frequency of adjustments, the C792 printer or X792 MFP needs to be updated to the latest firmware version. Starting at code level E143, new algorithms were introduced to better manage the frequency of the color adjustments across all run modes.

Additionally, you can also try changing the Color Adjustment setting from “Normal” to “Fewer Color Adjustments”. To do this, follow the steps below:

1. Access the printer’s Configuration Menu, to do this:

   

   1. Power off the printer.

   

   2. On the printer’s numeric pad, press and hold the buttons 2 and 6.

   

   3. Power on the printer.

   

   4. Release the buttons when the progress bar reaches 50%.



2. On the Configuration Menu, scroll down by pressing the down arrow and select “Color Adjust”.



3. Using the left and right arrows, find and select “Fewer Color Adjustments”.



4. Press the Submit button. The printer then displays “Submitting Changes” and will return to the main Configuration menu.



5. Press “Exit Config Menu” and let the printer restart to Normal mode. Observe the printer and see whether the frequency of the Color Adjustment has changed. If it is still not tolerable, contact Lexmark Technical Support for further recommendations.
