Lexmark 'Solutions Composer' v1.1.1 (6/11)

Overview

Solution Composer is an easy-to-use program that allows users to build custom solutions that run on enabled Lexmark printers. These solutions behave like standard Embedded Solutions Framework (eSF) applications, and can range in complexity from one- or two-step processes, to more complex workflows that involve index files and multiple user prompts.

Compatibility notification

Solution Composer versions 1.0 and newer are not compatible with versions 0.5.0 and 0.5.1. Please remove any previous versions of the Solution Composer Agent from your device before installing version 1.0 or newer. Solution packages created with previous versions of the Solution Composer GUI will not execute on version 1.0 or newer.

Managing workflows

Solution workflows can be found on the Embedded Web page.

• For the X46x, X548x, X73x, X65x, X86x, and X95x devices, navigate to Applications > Solution Composer.
• For the X792 and X925 devices, navigate to Settings >Device Solutions >Additional Solutions.

Limitations

Solution Composer GUI

1. Inserting a variable in a multi-line text area with highlighted text is not being handled correctly. This will be fixed in a future release.



2. Inserting text in a multi-line text area that extends beyond the boundary of the text area is not being handled correctly. This will be available in a future release.

Solution Composer Agent

1. Scan to Network task runs in the background, therefore the workflow may progress or even complete before the entire file is transmitted to the destination.



2. Cancel Job button in the Scan to Fax task and the Copy task is not returning to the Home Screen. This will be fixed in a future release.



3. Fax number is required in the Scan to Fax task even if Prompt At Runtime is selected. Configuring Scan to Fax without specifying a number when Prompt at Runtime is selected will be supported in a future release.



4. Uninstalling the Agent from the device does not remove the workflow packages on Lexmark devices X792 and X925. Use the Embedded Web Page to uninstall the workflow package(s).



5. Index File to FTP and Scan to FTP tasks do not support non-ASCII characters in the file name.



6. Scanning a large file can result in a timeout condition on the device and the workflow may terminate prematurely. Increasing the operator panel timeout setting may prevent this.



7. Print Confirmation task does not fully support the use of currency symbols. This will be fixed in a future release.
