Lexmark X952&X954 ? Correct Usage of the Roll-Off Packaging Ramps

Overview

During installation of the X952 or X954 multifunction printer, the roll-off packaging ramps collapse as you unload the device off the pallet. This issue can be caused by an incorrect installation of the ramps, or also by rotating the printer to the side in order to unload it.

This article will show the correct installation of the roll-off packaging ramps as well as the proper unloading of the printer from the pallet.

How to install the ramps

The ramps should be installed at the front side of the pallet.

Line up the outer edges of the ramp with the black line on the pallet as shown in Figure 1b.

Figure 1c shows how the ramps should look like when correctly installed.

Roll the device off the pallet and down the ramps.

Important! The machine should come off front first (op panel facing the ramps). DO NOT ROTATE the device as this changes the weight distribution on the ramp surface which can result in the ramp(s) collapsing.
