SAP printout is shifted to the right when printing from an AS400 environment

Overview

All printout from SAP to the Lexmark X86x, X95x, & MX711 MFPs with IPDS DLE card installed are shifted to the right. This occurs when printing from an AS400 environment via a Printer Command Language (PCL) driver. Windows print jobs, however, print properly.

IMPORTANT: Document size used is A4.

Recommended solution

The default A4 size of the PCL emulation of the printer is 198 mm (7.79 in); changing this to 203 mm (7.99 in) will resolve this issue. To do so, please follow any of the two (2) options below:

Option 1: Via the Embedded Web Server (EWS)

Step

Action

1

Access the printer EWS by typing the printer’s IP address into the URL field of your browser (e.g., Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari).

For example, enter http://MFP_IP_Address, where MFP_IP_Address is the IP address of the printer.

2

Navigate to Settings >Print Settings >PCL Emul Menu >PCL Emulation Settings.

3

Change A4 Width to 203 mm (7.99 in), and then click Submit.

See sample image here.

Option 2: Via the printer Operator Panel

Step

Action

1

On the operator panel, navigate to Menu >Settings >Print Settings >PCL Emul Menu >PCL Emul Settings.

2

Change A4 Width to 203 mm (7.99 in), and then press Submit.
