Lexmark C950&X95x ? Long-Edge Fed (LEF) Universal Media Is Not Centered or Is Cut Off when Using the Intec Fiery RIP

Issue description

The print image is either off-center or cut off at the trailing edge when printed on Universal Media – a size equal or greater than A4 (i.e., =<A4 size) that is long-edge fed (LEF). This issue occurs only when using the Fiery host-based print (HBP) driver. See sample printouts below:

Explanation

The Fiery HBP driver does not include reference for universal long-edge feed. The HBP driver only assumes short-edge fed media and does not translate correctly if the media is fed long-edge. The images below show the difference between short and long-edge feeding.

Suggested remedy

Use the Lexmark PostScript (PS) or PCL driver because it will allow you to print LEF and be able to get the desired output. If the HPB driver is required, however, the only recommendation is to print the media via short-edge feed (SEF).
