Printer Hangs on Boot Up or when Attempting to Print a Job

What you will see

  • The printer prints a report, displays ' Busy' and then fails to respond to any additional printjobs.
  • Upon rebooting the printer, the initial boot logo appears but fails to go to ready.
  • Or, the printer boots up to a Ready state, but holds at busy when simply trying to print Internal Test and Menu pages.

Power the printer OFF and ON.

Disconnect the phone line and all data connection cables, and then repeat Step 1.

Eliminate any issues caused by UPS battery backups, power conditioners, and surge protectors by plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet, and then repeat Step 1.
