Lexmark C95x&X95x ? A 132.xx Service Engine Error Appears on the Printer Display

Overview

A 132.xx Service Engine error appears on the printer display during or while trying to print on the printer. This error indicates that the printer has detected a communication issue with one of its Toner Sensors.

Solution

Restarting the printer may clear out the error. Following the troubleshooting steps below will fix the issue.

1 Ensure that the printer is directly connected to a grounded wall outlet.
2 Power off the printer, wait 30 seconds, and then power it back on. Whether trying to print or upon powering up the printer, should the error persist, proceed to Step 3.

Clear out the error manually by going to the printer's Diagnostics menu with these steps:

  • Power off the printer.
  • Press and hold the 3 and 6 buttons.
  • Power on the printer, keeping both buttons held down
  • Release the buttons after ten seconds.

In the Diagnostics menu, scroll and look for ATC Sensor Fail Clear option and choose the specific 132.xx error (xx denotes 01, 02, 03, or 04). A “Testing” message will appear on the printer display.


Note:
If the reset is successful following the above steps, a “Pass” message will appear on the printer display. Press the Back button and scroll until you see EXIT DIAGNOSTICS from the options, then select it. The printer will reboot and go back to the Ready state.

4 Once printer is back at Ready, perform or run several test prints to ensure the error no longer appears.
5 Should the reset fail; power off the printer and repeat Step 3 by attempting to clear the error once more. If the second attempt fails, then a service call may be required to fix the issue. Please contact Lexmark Technical Support for further assistance.
