Problem Overview

During the development cycle, a fuser hardware change was made to increase paper corrugation (for reducing output curl and for improving output stacking). It exposed several catch points in the fuser diverter path during duplex retract. This was found just before the start of production for the printer but after fuser production commenced. It was decided that this problem was a low risk and the decision was made to start printer production and phase the fuser change in as soon as the tooling changes were made to the fuser diverter. An additional (6x) ribs were added to the fuser diverter to prevent leading edge damage when a sheet retracts into the duplex path. This change was cut into fuser control code AE. Please see the attached fuser label for an example and illustration as to where to find the fuser control code.
