Overview

When duplexing (printing on both sides) is not working with the Lexmark C734dn, C734dtn, C734dw, C736dn, C736dtn, X734de, X736de, X738de, or X738dte printers, ensure that the printer supports the duplexing capability, and that the required settings are correct. If the settings are not correct, this issue can be easily resolved without service. Please follow the steps below.

Troubleshooting

  1. To check if printer model supports duplex printing, follow the suggested steps below to print the Menu Settings Page.

• When the printer is at Ready state, press the Menu Button. • Using the Navigation keys, scroll down and select "Reports". • Under Reports, select the "Menu Settings Page".

  1. Look for “Installed Features” on one of these pages and confirm that the duplex option (Duplex) is listed in this section.

• If the duplex option is listed, skip ahead to Step 3 below. • If it is not listed, a problem exists with the duplex assembly on the main printer. Please contact Lexmark Technical Support or a local service provider in your area in order to have service arranged for your printer/MFP.

  1. Next, verify that the correct paper type is set. If the paper type is set to Card Stock, Transparencies, Paper Labels or Envelopes, change it to a different setting; (e.g., Plain Paper). To do this:
